How BuySellBid Auctions Work

Auctions on BuySellBid begin when a seller lists an item and sets a starting bid, a fixed price option, or both. Once the listing is active, registered buyers can place bids throughout the auction period. Each new bid must be higher than the current bid by at least the required minimum increment.

When the auction timer reaches zero, the highest bidder wins the item. The seller then ships the item to the winning buyer, and payment is completed according to the site’s payment rules and the seller’s selected payment options. If the seller enabled a “Buy Now” price, any buyer may instantly purchase the item at that amount, ending the auction immediately.

If an item receives no bids above the starting amount before the auction ends, the seller may relist it, adjust the price, or modify the listing terms.

Selling Your Item

BuySellBid allows two main selling formats:

• Flat Fee / Fixed Price Listing: Set a price and allow buyers to purchase the item immediately without bidding.
• Auction Listing: Set a starting bid, optional reserve price, and auction duration. Bidders compete until the timer ends.

Sellers can also add a “Buy Now” option to allow instant purchases, and may relist items that don’t sell the first time. All active and past listings can be managed from the seller’s account dashboard.

For Buyers

Before placing a bid, buyers should review the item details, photos, seller rating, and shipping terms. Buyers can place a standard bid or use a maximum (proxy) bid, which automatically raises their bid up to a chosen limit only when needed.

When the auction ends, the highest valid bid wins. Buyers receive notifications if they are outbid during the auction, and they can track items from their account dashboard.

After the Auction

Once the transaction is complete, both the buyer and seller can leave feedback for each other. Feedback helps establish trust and reputation throughout the marketplace.
